for gods sake do not use grease! Hairspray works just fine if you spray it on the hb and in the grip. Immediately slip it on the bar and get it where you want it and do not use the bike or the grip for about 30 minutes to let it dry. When you want to take it off again then use a razor to cut off or forced air will work it loose.
