Quill Stem Bicycle question.?
I am looking to upgrade my old 1970's Raleigh road bike quill stem. The stems I am looking at measure 22.2x180x60x25.4 and 22.2x180x80x25.4. I know I need a 25.4 inch stem but what do the other measurements mean and do they matter as much as 25.4 How can I tell my other measurements on my current road bike. Thanks.
Here is my understanding of it.
22.2 X 180 X 60 X 25.4
The 22.2 is the diameter of the stem
The 180 is the length of the stem.
The 60 or 80 is the distance or reach between the stem and the bars.
The 25.4 is the champ for the handlebars.

They also make adapters and adjustable quill stems.
