Is this what the Magic should do in the offseason?
1.Trade Vince Carter and a 1st Rounder for Rudy Gay in a sign and trade deal. According to the Grizzlies they want a vetern Guard/Foward and Vince Carter can fit that bill and Magic can give them there late 1st rounder which is a nice pick and Magic get a young very good player who can bring some youth and athletism into that lineup which is what they need
2.In the 2nd round draft Tim Ohlbrecht who is a Power Foward and let him stay in Germany for a couple of seasons who could be a really good fit for the Magic
3.Sign Mike Miller for the MLE
4.Bring back JJ Redick as your 6th Man
Projected Lineup
PG-Jameer Nelson
SG-Mike Miller
SF-Rudy Gay
PF-Rashard Lewis
C-Dwight Howard
And Make sure Brandon Bass and JJ Redick get more mins
Miller is a tough nosed player
Gay is pretty soft but he adds alot of Athletism which they need
Gay and Miller are nice players, but they still don't address the key problems for the Magic.
Nelson is not a championship PG...pure and simple. He is too slow and his decision-making is questionable. They need to upgrade their PG.
Also, those guys add no toughness at all to Orlando. The Magic were easily out-muscled by the Celts, and beyond Dwight, they have no strength. Get Dwight in foul trouble, and that team is pretty much ruined.
One of their biggest problems is that by playing Lewis at PF, they leave Dwight to do all the rebounding, blocking and inside scoring, which is just too much for him to handle alone.
I agree that Redick and Bass need more playing time, though. And that VC has to go!
